Main Street Committees Grand Haven is one of only thirteen communities in the state of Michigan to be part of the Michigan Main Street Program. The intention of this program includes revitalizing the downtown, promoting businesses, increasing economic development, and encouraging growth in the community’s business districts. The Main Street Program uses a Four Point Approach that includes four different committees of volunteers whom undertake aspects related to the Main Street goals.
For more information, please visit the National Main Street Website.

The City of Grand Haven possesses a very
rich historical background, and it’s the design committee that’s in charge of highlighting this heritage to the public. From choosing construction designs to planning improvement projects, the design committee helps keep Grand Haven looking its best. |
This committee coordinates and encourages volunteers, committee members, and business owners to work towards a common goal. By allowing the responsibilities to be shared by a variety of people, the workload is spread out and cooperation is enhanced. |
By planning and implementing special events, this committee focuses on increasing awareness in Grand Haven’s downtown. Through advertising and other promotions, the promotions committee works to give Grand Haven a positive image. |
